In today’s always on(line) world, we are inundated by emails, notifications, and digital distractions, thus increasing the likelihood of stress, digital overload, burnout and overwhelm. 


Learn evidence-based strategies for cultivating a sustainable relationship with technology that will leave you feeling productive (instead of busy), focused (instead of distracted), and thriving (instead of burned out). Mindfulness practices, as a key digital wellness strategy, will be explored, as well as theories and concepts related to flow, stress management, and the 'myth' of multitasking.

Emotional intelligence has long been known for its workplace benefits, however, individuals with strong digital emotional intelligence understand how human emotion changes across channels and can use this information to guide actions, decision-making, and behaviour. 

  

Based on the work of Daniel Goleman, we build on his five pillars of emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills) and adapt them to a digital environment to explore how to be mindful, empathetic, and authentic with our digital communications.

Leaders as ‘Agents of Change’ in Employee Digital Wellness

A change agent is someone who role models, exemplifies, motivates, and inspires change to happen within a group or organization. And although workplace well-being is ‘everyone’s business’, leaders are uniquely positioned to contribute positively to both organizational and individual well-being. And since over 70% of workplace communication is digital, it is essential to consider how the virtual environment may be contributing positively (or negatively) to employee well-being. Using practical examples, this session will challenge leaders to think about the “health” of their digital environment and offer ways to improve personal and team digital wellness.
